S Hussein on trial in BaghdadThe court case of former Iraqi leader S Hussein for horrible crimes against humanity has opened in Central Baghdad amid tight security. He and 7 associates are charged with ordering the killing of 129 Shia men in 1982 in Dujail.

His lawyer, K. Dulaimi, damands that the case is illegitimate and he demands a adjournment.

The tribunal - filmed by TV cameras - is being heard in a specially built courtroom in the heavily fortified Green Zone in Central Baghdad.
