Angelina Jolie Adopts Under Heavy Criticism

Angelina Jolie is wrapping up a visit to Hanoi to finish the paperwork to adopt her fourth child, a three-and-a-half year old boy named Pax Thien Jolie.  Jolie already has two adopted children, as well as a daughter with co-star and love interest Brad Pitt.

Foreign adoptions like Jolie’s and Madonna’s have taken criticism recently from people who claim that the celebrities are receiving preferential treatment, or that they would be better off adopting children from their countries of residence.

Personally, I agree with Oprah, who told celebrity adoption critics to stuff it.  With all of the children suffering around the world, any time one of them is given a better home, it’s nearly a miracle.  Why anyone would want to take that away from those children is beyond me.

And who are those critics to tell people what they should and should not do with their generosity?  Adopting children who would lead terrible lives otherwise, giving them a good home, an education… how many of us can say that we have done anything a fraction so worthwhile with our own lives?

In my opinion, anyone who does anything to make the world a better place deserves applause, not condemnation, and they should be left free to decide their own forms of generosity.

On a positive note.
Well I have totally finished the overseas property sale part
